KathyJo is Florida's premier rock-n-blues vocalist. She brings it all! From a soulful ballad to the energy, drive and grit of Janis Joplin's "Ball and Chain".
Like many artists, KathyJo's beginnings are rooted in Gospel music. Years spent performing and writing gospel helped shape her vocally, spiritually, & professionally. Major influences like Janis Joplin, Billie Holiday and SRV are evident in her original material and intensely powerful live show.
In 2002, Leesburg Bikefest offered a prime stage to debut KathyJo & The Bluzification Band. Since then, KJ has shared the bill with national acts like Marshall Trucker, Molly Hatchet, Atlanta Rhythm Section & the Pat Travers Band. As a tribute to Janis, in 2005 KathyJo & Cheap Thrills hit the stage with raw “out of control” rockin’ blues performing classics like "Piece Of My Heart" and "Turtle Blues".
Her album ON A RUN will be released in May, 2008. KJ brings back that bluzification tone letting you peer into her soul through originals like ON A RUN (Biker Anthem), the delta boogie of Livin’ & Learnin’, the blues rock sound of Wonderin' Blues.
